THE ROMAN IMPERIAL CULT
The Divine Emperors

From the Deification of Julius Caesar in 42 BC
to the apotheosis of the Emperor Anastasius in 518 AD, all Emperors of Rome were Deified.
Until around 400 AD the Deified Emperors received veneration and offerings in the Imperial Temples.
They continued to receive public prayer and commemoration in Christian Churches through the 7th Century AD and beyond.

A full list of Roman Emperors may be found HERE.

These pages are dedicated to the Divine Emperors and their modern veneration.
